Agape has been ministering in Kentucky jails and prisons since the
early 1970's. Thousands have come to know the love of Christ through
the years. Hundreds of different volunteers, from all walks of life,
have had the opportunity to minister hope to thousand of prisoners
through Agape Prison Ministry.
"It is all about the hundreds of Agape
VOLUNTEERS sharing their time and Christian
love that makes a difference in thousands of inmates lives each
year."
Chaplain Mike Humble

Prison Invasions:
Agape is the original founder of PRISON INVASIONS in Kentucky,
with the first state wide invasion in 1986. "Prison Invasions"
utilizes many volunteers on different weekends to share Christ
throughout the entire prison on a one-on-one basis with a large
service in the evenings. One-on-one is a big part of a Prison
Invasion. During an Invasion, the men and women go into many
different area of the prison to share.

In addition to the Prison Invasions, Agape has
Volunteer Chaplains in the prisons and have
also been involved in Prison Ministry International.

On the third Saturday evening of the month at
Kentucky State Penitentiary, Agape volunteers go into "the
hole" otherwise known as maximum lock up 3 Cell House.
Volunteers are able to share one-on-one, bringing a ray of
hope, with maximum security inmates who see very little
sunlight for weeks at a time. In addition to talking with the
men, the volunteers pass out paper, envelopes, greeting cards,
bibles, and Christian reading material to all that request it.

Agape holds many Chapel Services
in different prisons through out the year. Volunteers can
participate in many different ways in these services. It also
allows female volunteers to participate when they are
restricted in some prison outreaches because of safety.
Your church can help provide candy, socks, pens, and
different items that we place in the packages. Homemade
Christmas cards from the children of your church could bring a
tear to the eye of a hardened inmate. Please consider us next
Christmas.
